Target audience: the advanced training course is available to individuals who hold (or are currently pursuing) a higher or secondary vocational education in the relevant field, or who have completed professional retraining in the corresponding area.
Studying methods: lecture, seminar, independent homework, case study, problem solving, calculations, graphing, group discussion, exercises, and watching videos.
After of course, participants will be: to improve professional competencies as reflected in practical abilities:
- develop an understanding of the physical and mechanical fundamentals of sand production processes, water coning, and gas breakthrough under horizontal filtration conditions;
- review a range of sand control technologies, including slot screens, wire‑wrapped screens, multi‑layer mesh filters, gravel packing technology, and pre‑packed proppant filters;
- master the principles of selecting sand control technologies based on grain size distribution data;
- study approaches to justifying sand control technologies using laboratory tests;
- learn inflow control technologies using passive and autonomous inflow control devices (ICDs). Study the principles of horizontal wellbore segmentation;
- study the fundamentals of designing and modelling water and gas shut‑off systems (WGS/AWGS) to сдерживать water and gas influx;
- master the principles of monitoring and analysing the performance of horizontal wells;
- develop skills in integrated design and economic justification of technology selection.
About course: training of highly qualified specialists capable of comprehensively addressing sand production issues and unwanted water and gas influx in horizontal wells at all stages — from design to effectiveness analysis of implemented measures — using modern diagnostic methods, modelling techniques, and inflow control technologies.
