On 05.06.2026, in Sochi, the professional training programme «Sedimentology: Lithofacial and Formation Analysis of Oil and Gas‑Bearing Sedimentary Complexes» was successfully completed at theAcademy of Engineering for Oil and Gas Fields..
Upon completion of the course, participants enhanced their professional competencies, demonstrated through the following skills: conducting detailed layer‑by‑layer lithological description of core samples with facies diagnosis and sedimentary environment identification; assessing the quality of initial laboratory research results; extracting from the entire volume of core data only the information necessary for constructing geological models; taking into account the stages, tools, and methodology of facies‑cyclic analysis when creating geological models; applying sedimentology in various fields of geology.
A notable addition to the training was a guided tour to the National Caucasus Park, specifically to the «Taxus‑Boxwood Grove». During the walk, participants had the opportunity to observe centuries‑old thickets of some of the most ancient plants on Earth and, in an informal setting, discuss current training‑related issues with an expert.
Training at the Academy of Engineering for Oil and Gas Fields (INGM) combines not only lectures and practical sessions, but also creates a platform for professional experience exchange among specialists from various companies and industries.
